Cookie policy
What cookies we use, and why there are so few of them. Last updated 24 August 2026.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between visits or between pages — like whether you're signed in.
2. The cookies we use
This is the complete list — every cookie Baytak sets, what it does, and how long it lasts.
- __session — keeps you signed in. Strictly necessary; set only once you sign in, and expires after 14 days or when you sign out.
- pg_locale — remembers whether you last used the site in English or Arabic. Functional; expires after one year, and you can change it any time from the language switcher.
3. What we do not use
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run tracking pixels for other companies. We do record events like listing views and WhatsApp contacts so listers can see how their property is performing, but this happens on our own servers against the listing being viewed — not through a cookie that follows you across other websites — and any identifier stored with an event is hashed before it is saved.
4. Managing cookies
Because we only use strictly necessary and functional first-party cookies, there is no cookie-consent banner with optional categories to configure. You can still clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; doing so will sign you out and reset your language preference, but will not stop the rest of the site from working.
5. Changes to this policy
If this ever changes — for example, if we add analytics or advertising cookies in future — we will update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent before setting them.
6. Contact
Questions about cookies: hello@baytak.example, or through our Contact page.
